Practice overview
In January 2024, after years of serving in mentorship roles, guiding group yoga and meditation, and working on farms, I felt it was time to make the transition to birth work. I trained as a doula with home birth midwife Michelle Welborn out of Natural Resources in San Francisco. She inspired my new dream of eventually becoming a midwife.
As an ecologist and spiritual practitioner, I am so grateful to have wandered into the world of birth work — it's this deeply personal, intentional, and synergetic work that draws me in and feels like a natural culmination of my passions and gifts. Birth amazes me in its physiology, in how it connects us so clearly to the natural world, and in the way it illuminates our true power as women. Women as nature, women as sacred intuition, women as the mediums through which life continues to spring forth!
I am a new birth doula. I trust, however, in my ability to be a calming, grounding presence for you throughout your pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period. And because I’ve never been pregnant or given birth, I won’t be projecting any personal baggage or expectations onto yours. “Should” is off-limits. My role as your doula is to be a sister and friend, a therapist and soundboard, a mentor and informant; empowering you with knowledge that allows you to champion your inner wisdom and make the best decisions for you — your body, your baby, your birth. I'll be the first to follow your lead.

September 19, 2024 at 7:48 pm | Peer reviewMy interaction with Fredi as an instructor / student was just what you wanted as a facilitator. She was engaged, curious , she showed empathy and compassion for her cohort as well as to myself when stories were shared. I saw the passion she had for birth work and the eagerness to get out there and help support families and make change.
I enjoyed having Fredi in the group.
